I have found your podcasts interesting and informative on financial aspects of our working lives that we were not taught about. I agree with you, Financial Health should be on the medical school curriculum. The reason I have given it four starts is indirectly linked with the podcast. The advisor recommended via your site has called me once and since receiving the information from NHS pensions agency (which took a few weeks because this is how long it takes to get the paperwork these days) has not replied any of my emails or returned calls. I am obviously disappointed. Could you please ask the financial advisers who agree to be contacted to be committed to the process. Thank you for your time and energy.

Aimed at medics, they offer sensible advice relating to issues medics face. Even a complete novice like me understood the financial principles, thanks to their presentations which are easy to understand. I have found Medics Money to be very helpful in identifying suitable medical accountancy firms who can provide expert information on my complex financial needs. The website is easy to navigate and has lots of useful information which instils confidence. I was contacted very promptly by one of the recommended firms who gave me some important advice on NHS Pensions. I am still waiting to hear from the accountants but I understand that this is a very busy period for them with lots of interest from doctors based on the new pension rules. Harry was an absolute gem to have in our corner during the process of choosing a provider for critical Illness and life insurance. He is so down to earth and easy to speak to which makes everything that much easier. He provides us will all the options, advises us on what he believes would be best suited for us and then does his best to help tailor that even further to fit our preferences. He’s always willing for a call and doesn’t mind explaining things that may have gone over our head (for about the 10th time). All in all, he’s super knowledgeable, gives honest advise, and always has his clients best interest at heart.

Really awful service. I went through an application with Vitality for income protection and life insurance. This meant a health assessment on the phone, in person, and waiting for a GP report. A process that took 4 months. During that time the allocated advisor from Legal and Medical moved jobs. I was told there would be someone else taking over my case. I tried to chase up an outcome and heard nothing numerous times over a month long period. I contacted Vitallity directly to be told Legal and Medical had cancelled the application before the underwriter made a decision. Still no response from Legal and Medical. It took a lot of time and energy to get it to underwriting stage and months of waiting so to find out it’s been cancelled without any discussion is hugely disappointing. They also advised on my husband’s life insurance and income protection and due to a common pre existing condition we were told he could not be covered. An alternative broker found him cover with a mainstream insurer within 24 hours with no GP report or medical needed. They also advised on my husband’s private pension and their ongoing fees and fees for moving it were exorbitant for handling this. When there was no contact we found an alternative well established IFA who is sorting it for a tiny fraction of these fees without moving the pension from a really reputable company. Beware this company.

Harry from Legal and Medical was excellent throughout the process. Our situation was more complex than normal, but Harry was knowledgeable and helpful throughout. He expertly navigated two simultaneous mortgage applications and was able to drive the process when the banks were stalling. Being able to phone and speak directly to Harry, and to have a virtual "face to face" meeting is a far cry from other large mortgage brokers. I would not hesitate to use L&M in the future, and would recommend them unreservedly to all.
