I have found your podcasts interesting and informative on financial aspects of our working lives that we were not taught about. I agree with you, Financial Health should be on the medical school curriculum. The reason I have given it four starts is indirectly linked with the podcast. The advisor recommended via your site has called me once and since receiving the information from NHS pensions agency (which took a few weeks because this is how long it takes to get the paperwork these days) has not replied any of my emails or returned calls. I am obviously disappointed. Could you please ask the financial advisers who agree to be contacted to be committed to the process. Thank you for your time and energy.

Aimed at medics, they offer sensible advice relating to issues medics face. Even a complete novice like me understood the financial principles, thanks to their presentations which are easy to understand. I have found Medics Money to be very helpful in identifying suitable medical accountancy firms who can provide expert information on my complex financial needs. The website is easy to navigate and has lots of useful information which instils confidence. The query turned out to be about pension growth rather than requiring specific tax services so our NHS Pension Management team also followed up via email. We aim respond to all enquiries in a timely manner and initial free consultations are with Senior technical experts within our team. We invest considerable time upfront to engage with potential clients, if enquiries are urgent then potential clients also have the option of calling our team. Although we live in a digital age, email is a non-urgent form of communication. We are disappointed to receive this review and comment as we genuinely strive to deliver a first class service to our portfolio of over 1,200 NHS Professionals.

Been with BW for 7 years and they have consistently provided an excellent service.

I won't put a 1 star as when I started off with this agency- they were very good. I worked with **anonymised** and **anonymised**. I was very impressed initially by the time **anonymised** had given me on the phone to explain different aspects of taxes with me so I had joined in 2019. As time went on, I noticed the quality of work had reduced. I was doing both my corporation tax and self assessment with themselves. Their charges went up but they took longer completing my self assessment for the year 22/23, (almost 4 months) and hence 23/24 I switched discretely to another firm for my SA. I was hoping to finish my corporation tax with them this year. I had expressed that I wasn't happy with my corporation tax was handled, not necessarily because they did it wrong, but more because I didn't understand some of the complex numbers that started to come up. I just wanted to go through it with someone so that I didn't find myself in the same predicament. I sent them my corporation tax return for this year for them to do. Unexpectedly, I then got an invoice for over £300 for work that they claimed to do- which they didn't. When I sent them my evidence disputing this, I never got a response. I then asked them if they want to do my corporation tax return or not, and I got a disengagement letter, being then told that I had requested to leave when I didnt- I was asking them if they didn't want to continue being my accountants. All of this just over 1 month before my corporation tax is due. It's very disappointing. If they had an issue with me they should have just spoken to me instead of leaving me out to dry and trying to "force me out". It seems like they have good reviews when it comes to partnership- that seems like the bread and butter of their work, where they get the most money, so self assessment and corporation tax takes a backseat. I don't have experience from a GP Partnership point of view, so I don't want to be unfair from that stand, but from a general self assessment and corporation tax- I wouldn't recommend them.

As you mentioned, a great deal of time had been invested in your company and personal tax affairs since you became a client back in 2019. Specifically, explaining the complexities of your chosen corporate structure and how this impacted upon your personal tax affairs as well. As you have mentioned, at no point was any of our work incorrect or inaccurate and we did our very best on numerous occasions each year to explain matters clearly and advise accordingly for the future. As with all accountancy firms, we have numerous clients, and we have to apportion our time between those clients accordingly. When resources and time are invested over and above the norm it is sometimes necessary to invoice for that additional time devoted to any given client. There are also conventional time frames within the industry which dictate that personal tax returns cannot be completed and submitted in advance of the corporate accounts and dividend extraction being known. This can sometimes result in timeframes being extended beyond what an individual deems appropriate. Having been informed that you no longer wished for BWMA to deal with your personal tax affairs we followed our standard business protocol of starting to disengage for company affairs also. It is not common practice for us to act on behalf of a company and not the sole director of that company. Our expertise firmly lies in partnership, personal and corporate accountancy and tax compliance / advice. Thank you for your feedback.
